Data Engineer English

As a Data Engineer, you contribute directly to building, maintaining, and optimizing the data solutions that keep our organization moving.

You enjoy diving into complex data challenges, improving systems, and ensuring the quality and reliability of our data landscape. You work closely with colleagues across the business to make sure insights are available, accurate, and easy to use, so our teams can make the right decisions every day.

You play an active role in designing and developing modern data platforms, building ETL/ELT pipelines, managing warehouse structures, and ensuring our data environment meets the highest standards of security and performance. With your technical expertise and hands-on mentality, you help us continue to grow in the field of data & analytics.

You collaborate closely with analytics, BI, and data science teams, bringing structure, quality, and innovation to our data processes. You proactively spot potential improvements, think along about better ways of working, and help shape the future of our data architecture.

The most important tasks as a Data Engineer are:

• Designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data integrations

• Managing scalable data platforms using Microsoft Azure, Databricks and Microsoft Fabric

• Writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures

• Implementing and maintaining data warehousing solutions and dimensional models

• Ensuring data security, compliance, performance, and scalability

• Supporting and managing SSRS reports and datasets

• Working closely with BI, analytics, and data science teams to enable actionable insights

• Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and version control

• Identifying and driving improvements in data architecture, processes, and tools

• A minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a comparable role.

• Comfortable working with SQL, data integrations, and data‑warehousing concepts

• Able to build and maintain data pipelines and experienced with Microsoft Azure, Power BI, and Fabric

• Familiar with tools such as Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, or Lakehouse solutions

• Experience with SSRS and/or programming languages like DAX, Python, or Scala

• Accurate, proactive, and focused on data quality, security, and strong performance

• Experience with version control and CI/CD (Azure DevOps, Git)

• Strong English or Dutch communication skills and currently living and working in the Netherlands

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT, or a related field

• It is a plus if you have certifications such as Microsoft DP‑203 or DP‑600, and some familiarity with supply chain data or ERP systems like Dynamics AX or Mavis.
